Christian wrote the music and asked Mattias if he had any lyrics in mind that would suit the tune. The Austrian election, with the Jörg Haider and his right-wing party winning a frightening majority of the votes, took place while IA watched Sound of Music. A quite ugly parallell between WW2 and the racist/facist/ignorant shit Haider stand for sprung to Eklundh´s mind. All of a sudden "The Black Spider Flag" (the Swastika) didn't seem so far away. "Edelweiss, edelweiss, what's happening?".
