Nut Freezing Time

Plexi glass drummer

The contrast in one day standing in a hot outside arena in Mumbai and the next inside a club in Sweden, monstrously cold outside, is almost ridiculous. We had this gig in the city of Borås, not far from Gothenburg booked since way back. There was a dilemma with the age-restrictions, something we loathe, and Freak Guitar Camper Martin Floberg went to the bottom of what really is legally right and wrong. Swedish law says that you CAN walk into a club if you are under 18 if you are accompanied by a parent. The club in Borås didn't want to take the chance since they had trouble with parents simply leaving the kids at the place to party their brains out while going home themselves, so they rejected all minors. Martin got pissed off and went to the local paper who made the dilemma their headline news, putting Martin on the front outside the club, giving us more attention as well. Way to go Mr. Martin!

Scream for me Borås!

The gig was packed and the owners had to close the doors. Sold out is always a good thing. Due to more regulations and shit we were forced to put a plastic glass panel in front of Björn's drums to keep the volume down. This was an effective way to loose all kind of connection with the fabulous drummer and something we will never do again, wise from experience.

The concert went just fine. The stage was so small we had to drop the acoustic set and other things we intended to do, but the sheering crowd didn't seem to mind. We had a groovy time, as we always to, playing for you fine people.

Looking forward to see more freak friends at the Frankfurt messe soon. I will be playing in the Laney booth as previous years + the mini-gig Jonas, Zoltan and I will do at the Agora stage on the Thursday at 15:00. Also, don't miss the Headway festival instrumental edition this year, Saturday the 1st of April, again with Hellborg Group.

Sweaty? You bet!

Freak Kitchen will be back on the road the last couple of weekends in April with concerts in Borlänge, Linköping (Sweden), Sommersted (Denmark) and the Rock the Boat festival, onboard a ferry between Denmark and Norway. We are also glad the band finally will make some noise in the UK later this year due to true Fan Power! We salute you! If you any groovy venues you think we should pay a visit, please contact Mik Gaffney at Proper Music. Thanks, friends.

To finish off I'd like to push a little for my good friend Petrus' debut album Come What Might, to be released the 27th of March by Playground Music. The record was recorded here at the Apple Horn Abusement and I am happy to be part of it. Visit Petrus' site at: www.petrusmusic.com.

Västerås, Örebro, Borås, New Delhi and Mumbai - you are all splendid people and Kitchen Freaks. Keep up the freaky work, Cooking will be back soon. Thanks for reading.
