Greetings! It’s a hot July morning in the woods of Sweden. Maya the Dog is running around playing with the zillion cones surrounding her. A little further ahead a moose is getting up from what looks like a good night of sleep. Maya couldn’t care less. We’re all buddies here.

Mastering the new album
Eons of time have passed since you heard anything from us and so much has been going on I am not really sure where to begin.
First of all: Land of the Freaks is mixed, mastered and ready for release. (I think I have to type that again). First of all: Land of the Freaks is mixed, mastered and ready for release! Damn it! I can’t believe it is actually true but I think is. No fixed date yet. We are working with many different labels around the world that need to be somewhat in sync. We will let you know as soon as we do, rest assure. Read the rest of this entry »

Hey there! Hope you are all good wherever you are despite times of financial doom and whatnot. Everything is splendid here, I am afraid to say. Sitting in Munich about to get on a plane to Milan in a few minutes. Five clinics in Italy coming up, arranged by the great Mogar company, the Italian distributor of Laney amplification. Did a bunch of clinics here in Germany the other week and had a great time meeting and playing for all the cool people showing up in Berlin, Hamburg, Witten and Brilon (crazy/passionate campers Jochen and Andrei drove some 800 kilometers to hook up. Gee…) Will be back in Germany soon again at the mighty Frankfurt Messe as well as a few more clinics here and there. I dig doing clinics. It keeps you focused and is a fine way to get out there and play when Freak Kitchen is gearing up for future concerts but not in actual touring frenzy. Now I am not going to write the word clinic again. Ever. Clinic.

Memory lost!! No kidding…
Land of the Freaks! Yes, damn it, it’s very much alive and kicking, to say the least, despite the silence from the Freak Camp recently. This is the deal: Read the rest of this entry »

Land of the Freaks
So, how are things proceeding with Land of the Freaks? Goodie goodie. Very goodie goodie! We see the end of production but there are still vocals and bass to be recorded before mix and mastering. I haven’t been this excited over a release since… well, never. I know, I know. This is what artists always say about their upcoming releases. But sometimes it’s true. Like now.

I am aware some of you think it takes forever and you are right. It does. It’s not because of grueling working schedules really. It’s more to give the music a chance to evolve naturally. Land of the Freaks is not going to be a stiff, over-produced album. Rather the opposite. We haven’t been this kick ass on a record before, if you ask me. Read the rest of this entry »

Hey again! A short report from the Land of the Freaks photo shoot the other day. Have such an inspired freak vibe in my gut I felt I needed to write a few words and post a few photos before going into Freak Guitar Camp frenzy (freak, freak, freak).
We hooked up at amazing photographer Lennart Sjöberg’s studio for an afternoon of intense, sinister posing. Started out with coffee, mineral water and a discussion with Lennart and computer animator wizard Fredrik Person who is doing the artwork together with Sjöberg. The concept of Land of the Freaks is turning out truly exquisite not to say cool and damn swell-looking if I may say so my damn self! We are all thrilled and floored about it! The evil Lithuanian creature is basically a pair of jeans folded, sprayed and decorated with all kinds of bizarre paraphernalia. It has a slippery look and you can really feel it is made by twisted human hands…
